Grade 12 Graduation Information

Throughout Semester 2, we will post updates on this page for all grade 12 graduation and celebration exercises. Please check back regularly for updates.

Dear GDHS Student/Guest and parent/guardians,

GDHS will be hosting its annual prom and we are happy to be celebrating this milestone with you! This year’s theme is “A Night to Remember” and it promises to be a night of fun and great memories.

Please read the following information carefully.

Prom is being held at the Mississauga Convention Centre, 75 Derry Road W (at Hurontario), Mississauga on Thursday, May 19th, 2022. The doors will open at 6:00 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7:15 followed by dancing until 10:30 p.m.

Tickets for prom will be available for purchase on CASHLESS starting April 1st. The cost per ticket is $75. ALL TICKETS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. All students and guests must complete a student behaviour contract for each ticket purchased. Students planning on attending prom, regardless of age, need to complete a Behaviour Contract as this information will be required in case of an emergency. If your guest changes prior to prom, you must inform the office and complete a new contract for the guest. Past students who are currently on the GDHS trespass list are not permitted to attend.

There will be an opportunity to select seating. This can be done with Ms. Menka in the library. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Faith Bruce, Admin Assistant, or Nicole Jarvis, Vice Principal, in the main office.

We look forward to sharing this evening of celebration with you!

There were three applications for GDHS Valedictorian 2022. The video submissions are included in our selection form found HERE. All grade 12 students are asked to please take a moment to cast their vote before the end of the day on Friday, April 8th (voting closes at 11:59 pm). The valedictory address will be part of our Year End Celebration.

Only those people in the GDHS Class of 2022 (ie: students currently in their grade 12 year) are permitted to cast votes and must do so through their HDSB account. This form will be recording your email address, which will then be automatically cross referenced against our list of Class of 2022 members. Only Mr. Gallant and Ms. Jarvis will have access to the Google Sheet for the cross-referencing of the votes and will protect the confidentiality of voters.
