Mainstage Production

GHDS proudly mounts a mainstage production every spring! Each year, we alternate between a musical and play.  In the past, musicals like Grease, The Wizard of Oz, Footloose and Annie as well as plays like The Children’s Hour, Goodnight Desdemona; Goodmorning Juliet and Clue! have graced our stage. The mainstage production is teacher directed and professionally mic’d by an outside, professional company. Again, this project provides opportunities for students to work with professionals in the industry, to strengthen an openness to collaboration, self-motivation/ability to motivate others, the ability to delegate tasks well, listening and communication skills and imagination.

Auditions for musical happen the beginning of October while mainstage plays take place toward the end of first semester.  Performance dates are typically in April/May. We welcome students from all grades, and all levels of experience, to act, direct, stage manage, head crews for props, set, costumes, lighting and sound. It's a fantastic opportunity to develop new friendships, leadership and creative thinking. Be sure to get involved in any way you would like! Sign ups and additional information are located outside Room 123.
